John Savignano achieved a phenomenal amount of success in the financial sector before founding his own company.
He has been a CEO since 1985, and during that time he led his company to rapid growth by applying many of the skills he learned as an entrepreneur.
Savignano’s current project, Savignano, is a protective clothing firm that offers a variety of top-quality products for clients across multiple industries – from construction workers to firefighters, military personnel and police officers.
Among his many accomplishments, savignano is the former President of the National Association of Fire Chiefs (NAFC), and the former Chairman of the International Association for Fire Fighter Safety; as well as an expert on fire safety and security.
In 2010, Savignano was inducted into The Fire Academy’s Hall of Fame for his dedication to supporting firefighters. In January 2013, he was honored by the New York Department of State with their inaugural Leader in Prevention Award for demonstrating excellence in occupational health and safety. In 2012, Savignano was honored by the New York City Fire Department with the Ellis Island Commission’s Special Pulitzer for his lifelong support of firefighters.
Savignano holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Iona College and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to his business and professional endeavors, Savignano also holds six honorary doctorates from various colleges as well as ten honorary doctorates from various universities.
John Savignano is married and lives in New York City. He also has twin daughters, and a son. He lists his children as his greatest accomplishments. He holds the 3rd highest position for CEO on Fortune magazine’s list of Top 50 Most Powerful People in 2011.
Savignano runs a foundation named after his son – The Savignano Foundation, which focuses on raising awareness about fire safety.
