Alliance Defending Freedom is the world’s largest organization fighting for religious freedom, free speech, sanctity of life, parental rights, and Godly marriages. ADF was founded by Christian leaders in 1994 to stand for faith, liberty, and constitutional rights. Despite having primarily Christian clients, ADF also proudly represents Muslims, Mormons, Jews, and the irreligious. ADF believes freedom of life, conscience, and expression belongs to all people, regardless of belief.
Religious liberty is the core of ADF’s mission. For example, in 2017 Alliance Defending Freedom successfully upheld the rights of Trinity Lutheran Church in front of the Supreme Court. Trinity Lutheran was unjustly excluded from a Missouri government program that reimbursed organizations for installing rubber playground surfaces. The Court ruled in Trinity’s favor, saying the exclusion was “odious to our Constitution … and cannot stand,” sending a strong message against government discrimination of religious organizations, parents, and children.
Alliance Defending Freedom is also representing 303 Creative as they stand up for the rights of artists to control their creative expression in line with their deeply held religious beliefs. This case deals with both freedom of speech and religion, as ADF fights for the unequivocal right of all people to be free from government interference or coercion in expressing their deepest-held convictions. ADF believes nobody should be forced into speech they disagree with or scared into silence, either in their private lives or professional endeavors. Most notably, ADF secured a victory in the “2022 Dobbs Case” that overturned “Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey”.
The landmark Supreme Court win upheld the sanctity of all human life as the Court rightfully declared that abortion has “no basis in the Constitution’s text or our nation’s history.” ADF firmly stands on the side of life, the unborn, and pro-life policies.
