Altheria Jackson is the founder and CEO of Angelesque Skin Care, LLC. Altheria is a licensed aesthetician in the state of Florida and has a post graduate training certificate in Aesthetics. The company specializes in skin care products for women with darker skin tones, which are often neglected by beauty brands.
Altheria was born and raised in Jamaica where she had her first job as an aesthetician at age 13. After graduating from high school, Altheria moved to Florida to pursue her career as an esthetician while still heavily involved into sports such as Track & Field and Cross Country running.
Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation was founded by Altheria and her husband, Daniel Jackson in 2010. The name “Roosevelt Island” was chosen to honor the late First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.
In 2012, Altheria was awarded the Black Women’s Entrepreneurial Summit’s Entrepreneur of the Year for her role with Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation and has since been featured on Forbes Magazine’s “Women To Watch” series in 2014.
The company’s mission is to create products that enhance natural radiance and hydration as well as provide a solution for black women seeking something different from what is available elsewhere.
The company has been featured in several publications including Forbes, UNCF, InStyle, Essence and The Huffington Post.In 2015, Altheria Jackson was named as one of the top 10 rising star entrepreneurs by MadameNoire and also a “Woman to Watch” by both Florida Trend and Black Enterprise Magazine. Altheria has been featured as an expert in skin care for dark skin tones by Ebony Magazine and received an award for “Best Use of Social Media for Social Good.”
In 2017, Altheria Jackson was named as a Woman of Power by Black Enterprise and has been featured as one of the “Top 25 Most Influential African-American Women in Health.”
Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation was also featured on IDEX Online’s list of 100 Top Companies to Watch in 2015 and 2018.
