Ben Roethlisberger Sr was born in Lima, Ohio, United States, on 2nd March 1982. He went to Findlay High School
in Findlay, Ohio, where he served as the Point Guard for the high school
basketball team. Following that, he continued his education at Miami
University, playing college football for the Miami.
Football Career
Ben Roethlisberger, also nicknamed “Big Ben”, had a great career as an
American Football quarterback. He played in the National Football League with Pittsburg Steelers from 2004 to
2020. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him in the initial round of the 2004 NFL
Draft. He won in his first official start in week three of 2004 and again in
week four.
He earned six Pro Bowl selections as a QB and clinched two Super Bowl victories.
He announced his retirement from the NFL on 27th January 2022.
Family Life
Roethlisberger married Ashley Harlan on 23rd June 2011 at Christ Church at Grove Farm in Ohio
Township. Ashley is an assistant physician in the cardiac surgery department at
UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburg. The former NFL player is a father of
three children, Benjamin Todd Jr, Baylee Marie, and Bodie Roethlisberger. In
2012, he returned to Miami University to complete his college degree,
graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
Philanthropic Work
Ben Roethlisberger’s legacy in Pittsburgh is also
associated with the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation, which supports Police and
fire departments. His love of animals and respect for police officers and
firefighters prompted him to create the Foundation.
The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation collaborates with the Make-A-Wish Foundation,
contributing to the fulfillment of over 160 wishes. Roethlisberger dedicates
his time to this cause because of his passion for helping kids. Before the
onset of COVID, Make-A-Wish hosted a child for every home game, where Ben
Roethlisberger would spend quality time with them.
Roethlisberger Family Foundation was established to help keep families connected. After
retirement, he planned to use the outdoors to reconnect with families through a
