Building a Better Future with the Colcom Foundation

The Colcom Foundation was created by Cordelia S. May in 1996 to help prevent the world from succumbing to problems such as overpopulation and the destruction of the environment through rapid urbanization. This is because we only get one planet and if we use up all the resources it will mean the end of human civilization as we know it.

Why is Overpopulation a Problem?

Since humans can’t terraform other planets, Earth is the only home we have. There are a limited number of resources on this planet, and they won’t last forever. The more people there are, the faster the resources get used up.

To deal with this problem, the Colcom Foundation is helping to teach people around the world how to do better when it comes to family planning. This will ensure that there are fewer unwanted children in the world and that the overall population stabilizes over time.

The Threat of Environmental Destruction

People say that the environment is important but don’t know exactly what that means in a lot of cases. In addition to issues such as the breakdown of the food chain and the loss of biodiversity, the loss of natural green spaces can have negative effects on human mental and physical health.

The Colcom Foundation is working with several other environmentally minded organizations to help preserve greenspaces in Pennsylvania. This includes the Hollow Oak Land Trust, Protect PT, and Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services. By working on projects with these organizations, Colcom carries on the legacy of its founder to better serve the future of mankind.

Colcom Ideals

The Colcom Foundation believes in equality, democracy, and freedom of speech. It wants to help create a world where everyone has a voice and where everyone’s voice is heard. This will allow good ideas to come out on top so that we can build a better future for everyone. See related link for more information.
