Kelcy N. Warren is the chairperson and CEO of Energy Transfer Partners. He is the youngest of his three brothers and was born and raised in 1955 in eastern Texas. Initially, his father was a ditch digger at Sun Oil before becoming a field clerk.
According to Kelcy Warren, his father lived a good and fulfilling life despite not getting a college or university education. Warren’s dad loved spending time with friends at the local coffee joint and going to watch high school learners as they played football. Kelcy Warren was a remarkable guy who always said good things about people he knew.
Warren’s mom grew up in Louisiana and was later employed in a department store. Even though she didn’t get a chance to graduate from high school, Warren’s mother understood the importance of taking her sons through high school and college. Since Warren and his brothers were small boys, their mother always reminded them of the need to get further education for a better future.
Warren enjoyed life at Gladewater and felt like he knew everyone in the small town. Mr. Kelcy Warren and his family loved attending Baptist church because it positively influenced their lives. The family was also involved in Boy Scouts, where Warren’s mother served as his den leader and his father his Scoutmaster. Warren’s parents loved getting involved in their sons’ lives, which made them advantaged over several of their agemates.
Even with both of Kelcy Warren’s parents having jobs, their salaries were never enough for their family’s needs. That made them continually find ways to raise extra income. For example, they opened a trailer park which raised a good amount of money for the family’s expenses.
Warren’s father also started selling paper rolls to get more cash for his children and wife. He would wake up before 3.00 in the morning to prepare the deliveries before leaving for his other job. Then, Mr. Warren would get up to deliver the rolls, where he gained his hardworking nature. See this article for additional information.
