Within this dynamic setting, the Academy of Art University presented two compelling games: Hexahedron and Teeth. Both creations emerged from senior students enrolled in the university’s intensive Game Development program. These games, while still in development, highlighted the institution’s commitment to hands-on learning and real-world application of skills.
Hexahedron, despite its geometric name, is a medieval exploration game. Its unfinished state offered visitors a glimpse into the creative process, showcasing both its potential and the learning journey of its developers. The focus on key mechanics and exploratory gameplay is a strong testament to the University’s educational approach, emphasizing the foundational aspects of game design.
Conversely, Teeth captivated attendees with its unique art style and top-down action gameplay. Described as more polished than its counterpart, Teeth impressed with its striking black-and-white visuals and thought-provoking narrative elements. David Goodwine, executive director of the School of Game Development, expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments.
