The Alliance Defending Freedom is pro-life, pro-family human rights organization that focuses on defending religious freedom, and they are the largest organization of their type. They believe that freedom of religion, as set out by the US Constitution, is a basic human right.
Alliance Defending Freedom believe that all human beings should be allowed to explore life’s deepest questions for themselves, and they defend the religious rights of more than just the Christians who founded the organization in 1994. They believe that everyone should be free to express their views and debate on issues. They believe that life should be protected from conception until a natural death. They believe that parents should have the right to protect their children. They defend the rights of individuals of various political orientations.
The Alliance Defending Freedom has defended a variety of rights pertaining to religious freedom and the values held by religious Americans over the years, but they list five areas of focus: religious freedom, freedom of speech, the sanctity of life, marriage and family, and parental rights. They work both in the United States and internationally to defend these rights, taking up cases such as students being arrested for speaking freely on their college campuses, students being discriminated against in schools because of their race, and families being allowed to keep their loved ones on life support.
ADF advocate for rights in the community and in courtrooms as high as the US Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights. Beyond the classroom and the courtroom, their international branch, ADF International, works against the genocide of religious groups like Christians and Shia Muslims.
Those who wish to help the Alliance Defending Freedom advocate for these issues can donate on their site. Volunteer opportunities are also available. Visit this page for related information.
